The Lohhof Experience is a mobile web application that harnesses the potential of Extended Reality to augment a small memorial monument for the rememembrance of Flachsröste Lohhof former forced labour camp in the NS-era in Germany.

Since the location of the former forced labour camp is not available, the space for the memorial was quite limited. By channeling our knowledge of immersive technologies, we created an Augmented Reality statue exhibition, where interactive statues provide insights into the lives and conditions of the forced laborers.

One of the statues serves as a portal into a 3D reconstruction of the former forced labour camp. Once the user walks in, they are transported to a virtual environment allowing visitors to explore the former camp from various perspectives. During the tour, there is a continued possibility to learn more through interactive hotspots within the 3D space.
