Working with a site that was used in a different way today was a challenge and opportunity for XR at the same time. Partnering with historians and artists, we learned visitors wanted more than just facts—they wanted stories. Our solution: let visitors explore the site, then unlock deeper narratives and hidden layers via their own devices, keeping the experience respectful and accessible.

Built with React Three Fiber and 8th Wall, the solution runs in any mobile browser—no app needed. Ground-plane tracking anchors AR elements; VR mode is optimized for all phones. Content updates—stories, languages, assets—are pushed instantly, no new downloads. Bridging both AR and VR worlds also ment higher adoption rates and increased impact through on- and off-site visits to the memorial.
